All stops interesting - Florence and Wangi Falls and termite mounds. Excellent lunch and snacks through out the day. Rob was very knowledgeable and entertaining guide and we had a fascinating chat about life the universe and everything in the Bus on the way back. Both of us would highly recommend this experience it was truly one of the best days we have had on our Australian adventure. Gemma F Loved it! Conny&York from Germany Tripguru5 Fantastic day out Had a great tour with Karl, his knowledge and information on the way to our first stop Berry Springs was great, what a way to start the day, swim and then morning tea. Then onto the termite mounds, Florence falls and the rock pools for 2 more swims, lunch was great. Wangi falls was the last stop, what a great place to visit, fantastic view of the falls from the water for another swim and cool down. Would recommend this day tour , well organized. Denise U Exclusive Immersive Territory Day Tour Keen to try something new and different we joined Rob on his small group Top End Taste Safari ( Birds, buggies, brunch, airboat) at Finniss River Lodge/Station. An early hotel pickup and 115km drive southwest from Darwin had us at the luxury lodge where we were warmly greeted by the team with coffee and chef prepared breakfast. We then headed out with our very experienced knowledgeable station guide for 2 hours of wildlife spotting and nature education in the go anywhere ATV. Following this was an exhilarating airboat ride over the wetlands. Time then for a beverage and another chef prepared meal. A swim in the lodge pool rounded off the afternoon. A relaxed, unhurried day, away from the crowds with plenty of time for photography and questions. 100% recommend this day tour. Suitable for anyone interested in seeing another side of Territory. Review for Kakadu 2 Day Tour Colours of KakaduAs a small group it allowed us to adjust the pace, like when we were driving past a picturesque billabong, we could stop and have our lunch there. The lunches were really tasty. The warm muffins before the sunrise Yellow Water cruise were fabulous. The whole itinerary has been well considered to get the most out of 2 days. We highly recommend this experience. Thank you Adam our guide and the team of Ethical Adventures for our wonderful experience of Kakadu. Siân D Amazing Day at Kakadu I had a great day exploring Kakadu. Rob was an amazing and knowledgeable guide. The lunch and snacks provided were both healthy and delicious. I loved the small and relaxed tour group size and Rob was a natural at making everyone feel welcome and at ease. The highlights included vising amazing Aboriginal rock paintings and meeting local indigenous artists and guides. The boat trip to see crocodiles up close won't disappoint. I would recommend this must do tour to everyone visiting Darwin/Kakadu. Michelle H Fantastic Day Trip! It is a long day but amazing!! All inclusive trip with breakfast, lunch, drinks and afternoon tea and a final stop at the Bark Hut Pub. The lunch was simple but hearty and healthy and very delicious. Our guide Rob was informative, funny, and explained the Kakadu NP area and rock art history with lots of breaks to enjoy the scenery and take it all in.Small group of six which is nice as we didn’t feel rushed like bigger tours. We also had Robbie a local indigenous guide who explained his way of life passed on by his ancestors while cruising the river and to see the crocodiles up close in their natural habitat.Overall it was an amazing tour, a new perspective of life in the Territory and the scenery was breathtaking. Rise with the birds and greet the outback sunrise as you are picked up from your accommodation around 6am.
As the warm golden rays highlight the red tones of the landscape, you’ll head East through open savanna woodlands on your way to the mighty Adelaide River Floodplain.
Stop over at Fogg Dam where the diverse habitats of monsoonal forest, wetland and floodplain combine to provide the perfect place to observe the Top Ends unique wildlife.
Here also begins your bushcraft journey of discovery by learning some of the bush foods and medicine plants of the Top End amidst nature at its finest.
Pause for a simple home prepared snack for breakfast.
From here it is a short distance to Corroboree Billabong where we enjoy nature as it was meant to be seen on a relaxed 1.5 hour wildlife cruise. Snakes, crocodiles and more are regular features on this journey so come prepared.
Having answered the call of the wild we then regroup for a fresh outback lunch at our seasonal location (Purple Mango Café or Humpty Doo Hotel).
After lunch we make out way back to Darwin to arrive around 3 pm.
Fogg Dam is known for being a hub for migratory water birds, magpie geese, white-bellied sea eagles, blue winged kookaburras and a multitude of other fathered friends. In fact, there have been over 230 bird species recorded in the Fogg Dam conservation reserve.
Our time at Fogg Dam will begin with a relaxed stroll through the monsoonal forest that fringes the dam. Here also is a great opportunity to begin to learn about some of the native bush foods, medicines and natural resources the traditional custodians would utilise.
Peer through the paperbark trees onto the wetland beyond as the water birds go about their business.
Relax and admire the antics of the abundant wildlife that frolic, scamper and glide all around.
Finishing the walk we will then move onto the Dam Wall where we have the chance to have breakfast with the birds before our next adventure on the water.
The enigmatic Corroboree Billabong is linked to the expansive Mary River Wetlands. A system which boast the highest concentration of salt water crocodiles in the world.
Not only will you get up close to crocodiles in their natural state, but you will also learn of the broader wetland ecosystem. The ebb and flow lifecycle on the water that is dominated by monsoonal floods and drought like winters.
At the completion of the cruise we then sit down for a delicious lunch at our seasonal location (Purple Mango Café or Humpty Doo Hotel) before making our way back to Darwin.
